La nostra nuova avventura MAINE COON comincia quando Nessy, la nostra splendida micia europea blu a pelo lungo, ci lascia...il vuoto ci porta quasi alla disperazione e alla ricerca di chi potesse colmare, almeno in parte, i silenzi che aveva lasciati...

Our new adventure starts when Nessy, our beautiful and beloved european blue long-haired cat, die… her death leave us a great void and desperation, so we started to search someone who could fill up, at least in part, the silences she left us…..

 

 

 

 

Cominciamo dai gattili, ma l'impresa sembra più ardua del previsto, poi spostiamo l'attenzione sui cosidetti "gatti di razza", alcuni davvero belli..si...ma il carattere??

E così io e le mie figlie scopriamo il MAINE COON.
Leggiamo, ci documentiamo, chiediamo e verifichiamo che i pareri di chi conosce il MAINE COON sono tutti concordi.....LUI è così dunque!
Restiamo, è il caso di dirlo, ubriacate dal suo aspetto e dalle sue qualità e finalmente nella nostra vita arriva Sophie, elegante, austera, dolce, magnifica....

So my daughters and I discover the MAINE COON.

Poi per gioco partecipiamo al nostro primo expo e Sophie, la nostra prima MAINE COON riceve i complimenti e il suo primo CAC, è fatta, da lì non si torna più indietro, il nostro maine coon ci ha stregate!

After that we participated for fun at our first expo MAINE COON and Sophie received the compliments and her first CAC!! This is it!we don't go no more behind; our maine coon bewitched us!

 

 

 

 

Da quel giorno non siamo più riuscite ad accontentarci e la passione per il MAINE COON ci ha portato a scoprire lo standard, i suoi punti di forza (tanti) e i suoi punti deboli (pochi).
In poco tempo è nato il progetto di un piccolo allevamento per provare l'emozione di una nascita, per seguire la crescita dei cuccioli, per capire sempre meglio e per condividere, con chi vuole, la meravigliosa esperienza del MAINE COON...
E, come sempre facciamo ogni cosa, cercando di intraprendere questo viaggio con molta serietà, rispetto, attenzione e voglia di imparare ogni giorno di più.

La nostra casa e il nostro piccolo giardino e anche il nostro meticcio Lucky, tutto è a disposizione dei nostri mici MAINE COON ,perchè ovunque noi soggiorniamo loro pretendono di seguirci e la loro presenza è pressochè costante, in confidenza, non riusciremmo nemmeno noi a stargli lontano!

Our home, our little garden and also our crossbreed Lucky are at disposal of our cats MAINE COON , because wherever we decide to stay the pretend to follow us and their presence is almost continued, in confidence, we wouldn’t be able to stay away from them neither do we! 

 

 

Nel nostro programma di allevamento i mici MAINE COON che diventeranno mamme e papà sono sottoposti al test dell'HCM, completo di ecocardiografia e test genetico presso il laboratorio Vetogene di Milano, laboratorio accreditato in Italia per la ricerca del gene responsabile della 1° e 2° mutazione. La malattia è di origine genetica, colpisce il cuore e può comparire sino all'età matura; anche i nonni e i bisnonni dei cuccioli hanno affrontato questo TEST. Nonostante sia praticamente impossibile che i nostri mici contraggano malattie chiamate FIV e FELV li sottoponiamo comunque anche a questi test. Dedicarsi a un numero limitato di gatti permette di tenere sotto controllo numerose infezioni, che proliferano più facilmente davanti a colonie numerose di gatti, per quanto vengano osservate scrupolose norme igieniche. .

In our breeding project the cats who will became moms or dads will be tested  for HCM, complete of echocardiography and genetic test by the Vetogene laboratory in Milan, the only one qualified in Italy for the research of this gene responsible of the 1° and the 2° genetic mutation. This is a congenital heart disease and it can appear till the adult age; also grandparents and great grandparents of the cats had been tested for this. Though it is practically impossible that our cats could contract diseases as FIV and FELV we treat them also for these in any case. To devote ourselves to a closer number of cats (less than 6) enable us to keep under control several infections which flourish easier in cats community much bigger than 6 units even if you try to respect all the hygienic behavior you can.

Prestiamo particolare attenzione all'alimentazione che riteniamo fondamentale per salvaguardare la salute dei nostri MAINE COON e prevenire numerose patologie, utilizzando prodotti biologici, naturali ad alto contenuto proteico, senza aggiunta di prodotti chimici e integrando con prodotti freschi. Per loro seguiamo una alimentazione naturale e biologica, il più possibile vicina alle loro esigenze.Integriamo la loro alimentazione con aminoacidi, vitamine e sali minerali che un tempo i nostri aMici MAINE COON traevano dall'alimentazione naturale delle prede, infatti, pertanto che il cibo somministrato sia di ottima qualità, durante la cottura molti nutrienti si perdono.
